No smoking hotel - a very appealing option. We don't need 5 star luxury so Mariner's suited our needs and comfort level. The bed was very comfy, the room & bathroom fresh and nice. The continental breakfast a very convenient bonus and great value. We will book again for our next visit to Sydney. cheers, Eve
The Hotel is very bad also the staff / services not good it's very very bad, The W/C is not clean and there is no tusis. About location is not good specely for family, there a lot of drank pepole and homeless and it's hard for get a taxi, the hotel they charge me 5$ just for call taxi *_* one more thing is importint there is no bady at reseotion after 4 pm
the place is very hard to reach by foot because you have about 150 stairs to climb every morning to go to work in order to reach kings cross station. the hotel staff is not sympathic at all, they only think about their money
Great service and value for money! Our flight arrived 6:00 AM and we were offered a (very) early check-in and free breakfast as soon as we arrived at the hotel at 8:00 AM. Great to be able to have a shower before fighting jet lag the rest of the day. The location is great (especially for the money). You can walk into Sydney centre but also cityrail is at walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.
Nothing much really.
I like the location of the hotel which is not far away from cbd and within the walking distance to the Kind Cross. I enjoyed walking the short cut from the hotel to the cbd which included China Town and the Darling Harbour etc. The hotel is not the 5-star hotel but most facilites were convenient, and it gave you a home feeling.
Proximity to city centre; Secure environment; Value for Money
Room/bathroom reflects the age of the hotel (eg shower base, patched walls, air-vent).
The bathroom had mold growing on the baseboards and the ceiling fan was so grossly dirty that I would guess that it has never been cleaned.
within walking distance to local attractions without the noise of city central
The air-conditioner will shut off after turning on for around 2 hours.
The hotel is bad. It is very old. The breakfast is not tasty , nothing to eat. Room is very small and darty. Reception works only day . There is not bar, restorant.
Had everything we needed at a great price - included substantial breakfast!
location, quiet, friendly staff, clean rooms
Quiet and very convenient to the facilities I needed. Affordable and clean and the staff very helpful
Great location, only a 10 min walk through the beautiful Botanical Gardens to the City, on the bus route to city and the hop on, hop off explorer bus stops very close by also. Rooms a bit dated but clean and practical and there is still a feel that it was a rest home once but that kind of adds to its quirkiness. Breakfasts are great.
Domestic staff were friendly and more than happy to help which is a bit more than can be said for the 'manager' who made you feel a bit like an inconvenience.......... However avoid her (easy to do as she is barely around) and it won't detract from your stay.
It was really close to the city, within walking distance and was good price. Continental breakfast included was good too, basic but did the trick. Our flight out on the departure day wasn't until late and the owner let us use the room for the whole day for $50.
Even though the reception office hours were meant to be 7:30am to 4:30pm, the owner/Receptionist was hardly ever there so made it hard when you wanted to find out things like where the closest post office was. We tried phoning twice from the airport before we left just to make sure we could check in, but there was no answer even though it was 9am. There was a pool room that was meant to be open til 9pm each night but it wasn't open once and we could never catch the owner/receptionist to ask her about it cos she was never there!
